They are a friendly, local, mixed voice choir, rehearsing weekly in term time, presenting a traditional choral repertoire whilst embracing new works and ideas.  Concerts are a mix of the choral greats and light classical music.<\/p>\n<p>David was in the studio to talk to Michelle Ward about one such concert, which is taking place in Brentwood School&#8217;s Wessex Auditorium on Saturday 25 March &#8211; Misa a Buenos Aires by Martin Palmeri.<\/p>\n<p>The concert features bandoneon player Julian Rowlands, who often plays on Strictly Come Dancing.  He has also appeared on The One Show, Zingzillas, Surprise Surprise, and on BBC national radio.<\/p>\n<p>Misa Tango, composed by the Argentine composer Martin Palmeri is a choral mass based on a tango sound. It is composed on the same movements as a mass in classical Latin, but uses the harmonics and syncopated rhythms of tango.<\/p>\n<p>The programme also includes a solo piece performed by Julian, Karl Jenkin\u2019s Benedictus from The Armed Man, Will Todd\u2019s The Lord is my Shepherd and Carlos Gardel\u2019s Por Una Cabeza.<\/p>\n<p>And yes, I had to Google bandoneon!
